Uplift's computer vision algorithms analyze each jump assessment video to identify insights and metrics that help an athlete analyze and improve their explosiveness. However, if your algorithm cannot identify the necessary features of the jump, that vieo recording may fail our quality assurance (QA) process.
If each of the expected features of a countermovement jump are not detected, the assessment will fail QA. Keep each of the following in mind when performing a jump assessment:
Our algorithm expects to identify and track knees, hips, feet, and other keypoints when analyzing the video. Without identifying these key points, the QA will fail. This may occur because of poor lighting or dark baggy clothing.
Start and end each jump recording in a neutral position (no movement before or after the jump). The algorithm may confuse other movements for the attempted jump if the video is cut off or if a different movement is performed.
Please only record one jump per video clip. If you record multiple jumps, the algorithm will not be able to successfully identify events like takeoff and landing.
Failed assessments can also occur if the setup instructions in the app are not followed. If you have experienced an unsuccessful assessment, please visit this article for tips to successfully record your jump assessment.
