Jump height is tracked to monitor an athlete's overall athleticism. We offer various jumping styles to help inform training decisions for individuals seeking to improve their jump height. Across all jumps, the maximum jump height is calculated using the flight time from each jump. By applying fundamental physics equations, we can determine the peak of your jump performance.

To start, we calculate the takeoff velocity of each jump using the following equation:

Takeoff velocity = (gravity x flight time) / 2

Next, we calculate the peak jump height using the takeoff velocity:

Jump height = Takeoff velocity x flight time

This enables us to track your jump height anywhere, as long as you have access to a current iPhone. For a detailed explanation on capturing successful jumps, please refer to our Knowledge Base article. However, the key takeaway is that consistent tracking of flight time is crucial for providing accurate and reliable monitoring metrics. To ensure reliable results, take the time to capture your jump with a clean, distraction-free background and at the proper distance from the camera.
